Luciana D’Intino - La Principessa di Bouillon
One of today’s most appreciated mezzo, after her outstanding success in Aida at
the Covent Garden in London, the Sunday Times wrote: «a glorious
mezzo soprano...the most exciting Italian singer in her role in the last years».
Particularly appreciated in Italian and French repertoire she has established an
extraordinary international career, performing regularly on the world’s most prestigious
concert stages and opera houses including Teatro alla Scala, Metropolitan in New
York, Covent Garden in London, Wiener Staatsoper, Staatsoper unter den Linden in
Berlin, Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Opernhaus in Zürich, Teatro Municipal in
Santiago de Chile, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence, Teatro La Fenice in Venice,
Teatro Comunale in Bologna, Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, Teatro San Carlo in Naples,
Teatro Regio in Parma and Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro.
She worked with such conductors as Salvatore Accardo, Daniel Barenboim, Semyon Bychkov,
Myung-Whun Chung, Colin Davis, Daniele Gatti, James Levine, Lorin Maazel, Zubin
Mehta, Riccardo Muti and George Prêtre.
Amongst her recent engagements it is worth mentioning her return to Opéra National
de Paris as Amneris in Verdi’s Aida (for the 2013/14 season opening
night) followed by Adriana Lecouvreur in Bilbao, Il Trovatore (Azucena)
at Teatro alla Scala, Aida in Vienna and Cavalleria Rusticana in
Florence and Palermo.

Mariangela Sicilia - Madamigella Jouvenot
Operalia Prize winner Mariangela Sicilia is one of the most exciting young sopranos
to have come out of Italy in the last few years; she has been seen, in the past
seasons, in Massenet's Cléopâtre (Charmionand) at the Salzburg Festival
under the baton of Vladimir Fedoseyev; Il Viaggio a Reims, La Donna
del Lago (Zedda conducting) and L'Italiana in Algeri at
the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro; Cilea's L'Arlesiana at
the Wexford Festival Opera and in Jesi; Rigoletto in Bari (d. Kief). Mariangela
Sicilia has recently performed L’Elisir d'Amore in Madrid (c.
Piollet; d. Michieletto) and in Monte Carlo (c. Stutzman); La Pietra del Paragone (Chatelet)
with Jean Christophe Spinosi and Musetta in La Bohème (c. Elder)
in Paris Opera; Petite Messe Solennelle in Saint-Etienne under
Zedda; Guillaume Tell at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna, (c. Mariotti;
d. Vick); Orphée et Eurydice at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo;
Verdi’s Quattro Pezzi Sacri (Concertgebouw) and new production
of Benvenuto Cellini (Térésa- Dutch National Opera & Ballet) directed
by Terry Gilliam and conducting by Mark Elder in Amsterdam.
Future plans include L’Inganno Felice at the Rossini
Opera Festival in Pesaro; Guglielmo Ratcliff at the Wexford Festival
Opera under Francesco Cilluffo; La Scala di Seta (Franklin conducting
and Michieletto directing) and Mozart’s Requiem in Liège under
Paolo Arrivabeni; Turandot (Liù) in Montpellier; La Bohème and
La Petite Messe Solennelle in Palermo. Ms. Sicilia will return to Concertgebouw
in Amsterdam singing the Petite Messe Solennelle.
